Simply pull/pry ( LOL ) the tab just enough to get the nub to clear the slot. Even getting the tab away from the nub, there is not much room to get proper leverage to separate the 2 pieces. Especially when holding the tab out with a finger. Gently, but firmly, jiggle and wiggle til the 2 pieces separate.
